Circular Fashion Of The Future

CIRCULAR FASHION OF THE FUTURE

The fashion industry is turning towards a circular economy model that embraces slow and sustainable supply chains, which favor quality over quantity, and prolong the longevity of well-loved garments.

Fast fashion has a reputation for being a significant contributor to climate change and water pollution, while often supporting questionable labor practices – all in the name of low-cost, disposable items that are quickly worn out and end in a land fill. This is because fast fashion favors profit margins above all else. While luxury brands and haute couture are also closely scrutinized, they are leading the ‘green revolution’ towards making sustainable fashion more accessible and mainstream.

BUSINESS AND SUSTAINABILITY GO HAND-IN-HAND

THE GUESTLIST strongly believes that business and sustainability go hand-in-hand. This is why our operations support a circular model. Our sustainability practices are committed to a more transparent and shorter supply chain – from how our materials are soured to how they are manufactured and consumed.

Our ethically-made cashmere garments follow principles of renewability, so as to allow them to be revived to their original condition. This is why we founded the Cashmere Spa in the textile town of Mühlhausen in Germany. This treatment facility rejuvenates your beloved cashmere outfits each season or whenever they’re in need of some TLC.

In this way, each garment becomes an investment piece and treasured keepsake. One that has a longer ‘wear’ life and can be restored to last a lifetime. This is how the Cashmere Spa initiative reduces the production of large amounts of cashmere each season.

DOING THINGS THE RIGHT WAY WILL NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE

Because our business maintains ownership of all materials, resources and waste, we take utmost care to ensure that our waste-management and recycling practices are in line with international regulations, and prioritize the people at the heart of our operations.

We foresee that the COVID-19 pandemic and its global economic repercussions will witness a slow-down in excessive consumerism. It will turn consumers’ focus to prolonging the longevity of their well-loved garments to become an asset in any wardrobe.

THE GUESTLIST truly believes that sustainability and doing things the right way, by the book, will never go out of style.
